Survival Game Vintage Story Gets an Official Mod Database And Improved Wayland Support
Looking for a new survival game that isn't Valheim? Give Vintage Story a go, which , on the surface, looks like Minecraft but is far more exciting and more mechanically.
While this is mainly a stability update for the previous release, which was massive, some fun things have been added. A Mod Database is one of the main improvements. This database allows players to upload mods and download them. MINECRAFT SERVERS They say it will eventually be integrated with the game client to "blur line on what vanilla content is and what mod content is" (if you want to use it).
While the rest of the update consists of minor tweaks and fixes, their support for Linux continues to shine. Linux gamers will see an improvement in Wayland support. They also upgraded OpenTK together with a few Wayland fixes that should improve the control of the mouse. See the full changelog here.
If you missed it, take a look at the trailer below for their last major update.
The next major update with 1.15 is already sounding intriguing with "some excellent work on improving performance in a variety of key areas of the game" as well as new music, new mobs and much more.
You can buy it from Humble Store and the official site. I would suggest doing it because it's amazing. A community member is also hosting an online server for Linux enthusiasts, check it out on our forum.
